On Saturday 17th September, EPIU Getafe Healthy Homes was present at the festival of Las Margaritas, with the action "Join us to create Healthy Homes, with EPIU Getafe! The event was attended by Fundación Laboral de la Construcción with the collaboration of Asociación de Ciencias Ambientales (ACA), and the Getafe City Council with GISA and Empresa Municipal de Suelo y Vivienda de Getafe (EMSV), partners of this project.

For this event we were present at a stand located in the Santa Margarita square, Avenue of the cities, 11 in Getafe (Madrid). There, families were encouraged to learn about the importance of improving the energy efficiency of their homes in order to enjoy a better well-being, with energy saving tips, guidance on how to read and interpret the data on energy supply bills and how to apply for the bono social eléctrico, if necessary through the collaboration with the partners that make up the EPIU Project and through the Healthy Homes Offices (Oficinas de Hogares Saludables -OHS-) set up both in its central office and those that exist in the Civic Centres of the neighbourhoods of La Alhóndiga-Fátima and Las Margaritas. Almost 60 families who attended the party in Las Margaritas were informed and will have the opportunity to receive advice through our OHS on energy issues at local, regional and state level.

Our OHS have been created as a result of this project, with the aim of supporting citizens in managing the grants available to improve the energy efficiency of homes and buildings in the neighbourhoods of La Alhóndiga and Las Margaritas. This project, which is part of the Urban Innovative Actions (UIA) programme, is subsidised by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF).

The youngest members of the family were also able to enjoy Cauliflower and its story of healthy homes, as well as a face painting, activities that attracted around 100 children who livened up the square throughout the morning.

The municipal corporation, represented by Herminio Vico Algaba, First Deputy Mayor, Councillor Delegate for Finance and Neighbourhood Coordination; Ángeles García Rodríguez, Councillor Delegate for Employment, Education and Children, as well as Fermín Álvarez, Director of the Margaritas Civic Centre, supported this event.
