Training begins for workers at the Hogares Saludables Office
On 21 September, training began for the five new workers who will work in the Healthy Homes Office (OHS), with the participation of Khora, the Environmental Sciences Association (ACA), Fundación Laboral de la Construcción, Universidad Politécnica de Madrid, Fundación Naturgy, the Red Cross and Getafe City Council itself.
This is a 200-hour training course, in which each partner involved will teach a specific subject area and will offer topics such as interpretation and reading of energy bills, energy efficiency, energy poverty, social context of the municipality, awareness-raising, visits to homes, technical concepts of OHS operation and procedures, use of the EPIU tool, attention to citizens and training, among others.
Khora, ACA and Fundación Laboral have already started their training. Last Friday 24 September, Fundación Laboral de la Construcción imparted the course "Energy Poverty-Energy Efficiency: vision from the construction sector". The course was taught by Professor Óscar Redondo, to the five new workers of the Hogares Saludables Office that Getafe City Council will launch in November, promoted by the EPIU Getafe Hogares Saludables project.
Beatriz García, project manager of GISA, introduced Fundación Laboral de la Construcción as a partner of the EPIU project. Matilde Daganzo, International Projects technician at Fundación Laboral de la Construcción, briefly presented the organisation and the work areas in which the organisation participates in the EPIU Getafe Hogares Saludables project.
Óscar Redondo is a trainer at the joint entity, as well as an architect and professional in the field of construction. For more than 15 years, he has coordinated his regular work in project management and development with teaching for several organisations and universities in the field of energy efficiency and sustainable urban planning, with a special focus on thermal analysis models for buildings and accessible design of environments.
The training, both dynamic and adapted to this project, was very well received by the students, who were also proactive, collaborative and very well disposed.
