Bertelsmann Space in Madrid will be the place to host on Wednesday 30 October the "II Conference on Innovation in Training of the Construction Industry" that Fundación Laboral de la Construcción organizes to present the results of some of European projects it leads and participates in. Tools will be presented for learning in different skills, Building Information Modeling (BIM) and Occupational Risk Prevention, designed for teaching and use by apprentices and workers in the construction sector. 

Journalist Daniel Seseña, director of RTVE's Open Chamber 2.0 programme, will be the host of ceremonies, who will give a motivational talk entitled "Connected Perspective". The event will be inaugurated by Juan José Juárez, senior project manager of Bertelsmann Foundation, and Enrique Corral, general director of Fundación Laboral, will be in charge of the closing ceremony.

Creative and collaborative synergies

Fundación Laboral and the Bertelsmann Space are committed to generating creative and collaborative synergies that allow innovative solutions to drive positive social change, as well as the dynamisation of debates on training and employment.

Along these lines, the second edition of the Fundación Laboral Innovation Workshops will tackle a common theme on "Digital competences for the transformation of the sector towards a Construction industry 4.0: Beyond BIM", in which the technical director of Integesa, Aída Machado, and the co-founder and head of Strategy and Innovation of EPC Tracker, Mario Rondán; together with Izan Liarte, former student of Fundación Laboral of Aragon and worker at Lobe Construcciones, will participate; Juan Lobaco, head of Studies at the Integrated Vocational Training Centre of Fundación Laboral de la Construcción of Aragon, and Óscar Aranda, director of Management Systems (Health & Safety Quality, Environment and Innovation) at Lobe Construcción Group. Liarte, Lobaco and Aranda will explain a successful case in which training, learning and employment have achieved a perfect sinergy.

The results of the applications of technology in learning presented by International Projects team of Fundación Laboral are grouped into three areas: competencies, BIM and Health & Safety.

Competences:

  • Bus.Trainers: Competences in energy efficiency and renewable energy systems for trainers of the construction industry.
  • TransToWork: Work-based Learning in Architecture, Engineering and Construction industry and the transition of young people to employment.
  • Women Can Build: Re-Conception of Vocational Training towards an equal construction industry.
  • Tycon: Mini-games that encourage entrepreneuship skills in the construction sector.

 

BIM:

  • Net-Ubiep: Network for Using BIM to Increase the Energy Buildings Performance.

 

Health & Safety:

  • Upp Games: Basic competencies in Health & Safety for work at height, through serious games for mobile devices (app).
  • VRoad: Virtual Reality Application of skills in Health & Safety in road works.

The event will take place at Bertelsmann Space in Madrid (C/O'Donnell, 10, 28009), on Wednesday 30 October, starting at 09:30 hours. Seating will be limited and free registration is compulsory.

         

Fundación Laboral launched this conference with the first edition held last year in Campus Madrid Google Space, which brought together more than 70 attendees, to value the commitment of the joint entity to promote the digital transformation of the sector. This commitment is evident in the more than 50 international projects in which it has participated since 2006, contributing its know-how to work for innovation.
