The Fundación Laboral de la Construcción participates in three new European initiatives on the promotion and improvement of professional skills in the habitat sector, the application of digital developments in the classroom and the use of Extended Reality (XR) templates in training.

In this way, the entity adds three new projects to the four it coordinates: Pact4Youth (Erasmus+), to attract young people to the construction sector, through a global strategy for their qualification and employability in the labor market; Construye 2030 (Life Clean Energy Transition), which aims to determine what skills will be needed to address the sector's energy transition and raise awareness about the creation of zero energy consumption buildings and the efficient use of resources; NaturBuild (Erasmus+), where specialized training in green roofs is developed, and #BuildOffsiteEU (Erasmus+), whose aim is retraining workers for the transition from traditional construction to industrialized (off-site) construction.

HABITABLE: Alliance of centers of excellence in VET for a sustainable habitat

The 'HABITABLE' project, co-financed by the Erasmus+ programme of the Alliance of Centers of Excellence in Vocational Training, has had the kick-off meeting on October 9 and 11 in Valladolid, at the headquarters of the AEICE Efficient Habitat Cluster, coordinator of the initiative.

Through this project, in which 20 entities from Spain, Austria, Georgia, Greece, Moldova and Portugal participate, the purpose is to respond to the challenges and needs of the habitat sector in terms of skills shortages and mismatches arising from the digital and green transition, improving the response capacity of the Vocational Training (VET) system to these changes, promoting inclusion and equity in education.

With this objective, through 'HABITABLE' a Platform of Professional Centers of Excellence will be created in the industrial ecosystem of the habitat, which includes different sectors and complementary industries of the construction value chain (building and rehabilitation, quarries, cement, ceramics, tiles and bricks, wood, furniture and cork, plaster, lime and plaster, urban sanitation, gardening, revaluation and waste management, ancillary services, etc.).

EasTDVET: Easing Transfer of Digital project results to VET

The 'EasTDVET' project, co-funded by the Erasmus+ programme, focuses on facilitating the transfer of digital results from other European projects to VET. To this end, six training institutions from Spain, Belgium, Italy, Lithuania and Macedonia, coordinated by BZB from Germany, met last October 18 in the city of Skopje (North Macedonia) to exchange practices on a transnational level and seek new ways to improve the use that teachers and study leaders make of the digital results developed through European programmes.

XR Energy: Extended Reality for Energy Transition in VET

The partners of the 'XR Energy' project, co-funded by the Erasmus+ programme, met for the first time on November 1 and 2 in Berlin (Germany) to start working on improving energy transition training through Extended Reality (XR), a collective term that combines immersive technologies, including Virtual Reality, Augmented Reality and Extended Reality.

In the project, coordinated by the German entity Sustainum, learning units will be developed as examples and XR templates will be created for these learning units that can be used directly in the classroom or workshop.
