On June 8th, the consortium of the EPIU Getafe Healthy Homes project held one of its meetings at the facilities of Fundación Laboral de la Construcción, one of the partners that coordinates the communication and training of this Urban Innovative Actions (UIA) initiative to combat energy poverty.

Beatriz Oliete Galiano, head of the Training Projects department, together with Matilde Daganzo Resa, Project Technician, and Mercedes Oriol Vico, Dissemination and Communication Officer of Fundación Laboral de la Construcción, welcomed the partners and opened the session.

The first part of the meeting focused on sharing projects that each partner is working on. Representatives of the different partner entities intervened: Alejandro López Parejo, coordinator of the Healthy Homes Office of Getafe City Council; Fernando González Ferreira, architect EPIU Getafe of Empresa Municipal del Suelo y la Vivienda (EMSV) of Getafe; Jesús García Pérez, European Projects technician of Getafe Iniciativas (GISA); Jorge Martínez Crespo, lecturer in the Department of Electrical Engineering at Carlos III University of Madrid (UC3M); Sergio Martín Serrano, director of Asociación de Ciencias Ambientales (ACA); Javier Fernández Oña, from the Social and International Projects Area of Fundación Naturgy; Asier Eguilaz Oyaga, architect and Urban Data Scientist at Khora Urban Thinkers; Ana Sanz Fernández, architect and researcher at the Escuela Técnica Superior de Arquitectura (Department of Urban and Territorial Planning) of Universidad Politécnica de Madrid (UPM); Vanesa Herranz Garrido, Environment and Seniors technician at the Getafe Red Cross, and Ernesto García Ojeda, volunteer at the NGO; and Beatriz Oliete Galiano, head of Training Projects at Fundación Laboral de la Construcción.

After a short break, the consortium took a tour of the facilities of Fundación Laboral de la Construcción, guided by Laura Cameno, the Training Centre coordinator at Fundación Laboral of Madrid, who toured classrooms, workshops and training spaces in which the joint entity trains professionals in the construction sector, as in the case of the people enrolled in the sustainable construction courses of the EPIU Getafe project.

Finally, a review was made of the different work packages of the EPIU Getafe Healthy Homes project, ending with a round of questions and comments, which gave way to a farewell speech by Javier González López, Training and Employment Director at Fundación Laboral de la Construcción.
