On June 23rd, the Final Conference of the CDWaste ManageVET project took place on the French island of Corsica, an initiative of the Erasmus+ programme, led by the Corsican Environment Office (OEC), in which Fundación Laboral de la Construcción participates as a Spanish partner, along with five other partners from Portugal, Romania, Italy and Greece, and which addresses the Vocational Training of workers in the construction sector in the management of Construction and Demolition Waste (CDW), through an innovative training programme.

At the conference, which was attended by 14 project technicians, the progress and results of the national training programmes were presented, as well as the main achievements of the project, which have been: the development of a study, which reflects the current situation as well as best practices in the field of training on excavation, demolition and construction waste management; the creation of the training programme and the corresponding material for vocational education and training in the field of waste management; the development of an interactive e-learning platform hosting the training programme; and the pilot training of the company's employees, which was carried out in the field of waste management.

Fundación Laboral de la Construcción carried out the pilot training in Spain, in its centres in Madrid and Navarra, during the month of June, in which 16 online students participated, six of whom also carried out a work-based learning (WBL) experience at the company REAM Recuperación Ambiental, which works mainly with aggregates from public works and construction and focuses on the environmental recovery of deteriorated areas to improve the quality of their surroundings.

In addition, the Foundation held several infodays and strengthened cooperation with other international projects to raise awareness of the project, make the results more accessible and increase the impact and applicability of the project at local level.

30 students and trainers from Fundación Laboral Training Centre in Madrid attended the infodays, where the results of the project were highlighted, as well as all the information and access points to the pedagogical resources developed by the project.

In addition, the CDWaste project has also carried out synergies with other European projects, specifically with: Construction Blueprint, a European project, belonging to the Erasmus+ programme, for the implementation of a new strategic approach to sectoral cooperation on skills, led by the Construction Labour Foundation. In this case, the CDWaste Manage VET training material will be disseminated on the Construction Blueprint platform, particularly in the circular economy area of this initiative.

Similarly, the Green Growth project - Erasmus+ programme - which aims to make the circular economy a cross-cutting theme in construction training to reduce CO2 emissions in the industry, has incorporated CDWaste Manage VET's circular economy pedagogy know-how.

Finally, the results of CDWaste were also presented at the partners' meeting of the EPIU Getafe Healthy Homes project, which belongs to the Urban Innovative Actions (UIA) programme, to 20 technicians of this initiative on fuel poverty.
